Ceremony
We consider the wishes of the deceased or the bereaved to be key to the ceremonial process. Westerveld has three auditoriums; one specially for burial ceremonies and two monumental auditoriums for cremation ceremonies.
The stylish reception area is located adjacent to the entrance lobby. This area comprises a special family room, a separate area for visitors and a room for paying last respects if this is required. From the reception area, the bereaved walk to the crematorium. It is also possible to bear the deceased from the reception area to the crematorium. This takes about ten minutes.
The auditorium for burial services can seat around 165 people and has an organ and a piano. It is of course also possible to play pre-recorded music here and to record services.
Some people like to see a coffin ‘lowered’ at the end of a ceremony. However, you could also leave it in place so the next of kin and other visitors can pay their last respects.
As a rule, each auditorium is booked for forty minutes, but longer services are of course possible also. Basically, any block of time is possible, but this must be requested in advance.
Ceremonies may be arranged and carried out by clergy, family or friends. There is room for religion, culture, (live) music and even dance. This means you can give your ceremony that truly personal touch. We would be delighted to answer your questions concerning the options.
