Successful Open Day at Westerveld Cemetery & Crematorium

Westerveld Cemetery & Crematorium organised an Open Day on 10th September. More than 300 visitors came to see the extensive services and options provided by this memorial park. During the Open Day, Westerveld also hosted the national jury day for the International Funeral Awards (IFA). Each year, IFA awards prizes for the most innovative initiatives within the funeral industry. Visitors responded enthusiastically to this combination of an Open Day and a jury day.

Good information
Visitors were given a guided tour of the buildings and were also able to visit the stands of the IFA participants. There were also guided tours of the memorial park, where staff provided information and answered questions. During the tours, visitors were able to visit the new Monument Garden, Villa Westerveld with its atmospheric funeral parlours, and of course the monumental crematorium. In addition, they were treated to snacks and drinks, something that Westerveld can also provide after a ceremony.

International Funeral Awards
Each year, IFA awards prizes for the most innovative initiatives within the funeral industry. A large number of these were assessed on 10 September, and a number were selected to go through to the final round. With nominations from the Netherlands and Belgium, the Funeral Awards will be presented at Hotel Vianen (NL) on 22nd October.
